Monica Salazar, DVM, MS

Dr. Salazar was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. From a young age, she knew veterinary medicine was her calling, which led her to pursue both a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Animal Science at New Mexico State University.

She graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2019. During veterinary school, she discovered a strong interest in small animal surgery and went on to complete a rotating internship in Maryland, followed by two surgical
internships – one in Illinois and another in South Florida.

Dr. Salazar is now a surgical resident at ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital – Palm Beach County, where she is continuing her advanced training in surgery.

She enjoys both soft tissue and orthopedic procedures, with a particular interest in orthopedic surgery. She also values working closely with families to help determine the best treatment option for each individual pet.

In her time off, Dr. Salazar enjoys spending time with her partner in crime, her Goldendoodle, Theodore – better known as Teddy – whether they are relaxing indoors or exploring outdoors.
