Mackenzie Hlesciak, VMD

Dr. Hlesciak grew up in South Jersey, about 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia – Go Eagles! From the age of four, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian and later fell in love with surgery during her clinical year and rotating internship.

After graduating from Bucknell University in 2017, she earned her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. She then moved to South Florida to complete a rotating internship, followed by a surgical internship in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Dr. Hlesciak is thrilled to be back in South Florida, where she first joined ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital – Palm Beach County as a surgical intern and is now continuing her advanced training as a surgery resident. She has a particular interest in joint replacement surgery, especially total hip replacements, as well as surgical oncology and reconstructive surgery.

In her free time, Dr. Hlesciak enjoys the beach, scuba diving, trying new restaurants, hiking, crocheting, and exploring with her dog, Iris. She also enjoys time at home with her two cats, Apollo and Artemis – all former patients she fostered and later adopted.
