Dr. Monica Salazar

Monica Salazar, DVM, MS, (Surgical Resident)

Dr. Salazar was born and raised in El Paso, Texas.

She knew veterinary medicine was her calling from a young age and therefore pursued a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Animal Science at New Mexico State University.

She graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2019. It was during veterinary school that she learned her interest in small animal surgery and has therefore pursued a rotating internship in Maryland and two surgical internships, one in Illinois, and another in South Florida. She enjoys both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, but has a particular liking for orthopedic surgery. She also enjoys working with families to find the best treatment option for each individual case.

In her time off, Dr. Salazar spends her time with her partner in crime (Goldendoodle), Theodore AKA Teddy, either indoors or outdoors
